What is our Education Committee up to?

Showing the completed quilt top with Mexican heritage motifs
Our Education Committee has been teaching quilting to the women of Adelante Mujeres in Forest Grove. Over several sessions, beginning with a presentation on the history of quilting, the women have learned applique techniques along with the skills needed to make a quilt. Combined with embroidery, a skill which is part of the Mexican culture, they will now be able to design and create their own quilts.

The second part of this program has begun, consisting of making and tying two charity quilts in rail fence and snowball patterns, which will then be donated to Lullaby Quilts.

Kudos to our Education Committee for developing this amazing program!
